The Rock Bus is a project owned and run by the Wigan Methodist Circuit.

We have a double decker bus that has been transformed into a mobile youth centre which we use to run sessions all over Wigan and beyond for children and young people.

There is lots to do on the bus!!! We have computer consoles, computers with access to the internet, a music system and a coffee bar. We also run a whole host of activities from jewelley making to sport, from beauty therapy to face painting. We have all kinds of games, crafts and other activies for children and young people to engage with.

As we are owned and run by the Methodists Churches in Wigan we are a Christian project. Many of our volunteers are Christians and we run from a Christian ethos. This means that when on the bus young people have the opportunity to pray and be prayed for and to hear the message of Jesus.

Our hope with the bus is that we would be able to provide a safe place for children and young people to be. Where they can be valued for who they are and empowered to reach their full potential. At The Rock Bus we believe that every child and young person is unique and can achieve great things. We feel we have a responsibility to support, encourage and enable them to see that too.

We also hope that through our work young people would know the love of Jesus and have an opportunity to experience his transforming power.

Ultimately our project is about providing something for young people to do and somewhere for them to go. Through which they can build purposeful relationships with positive adults and where they can reach the potential that God created them with.
